On the lower floor, going down a staircase next to the reception, we find our Bistro Restaurant. A large space with a large glass window, at the end of which we find our natural cellar, a passage that could seem like the escape route from a castle dungeon. And, in reality, it practically was. During the construction of the hotel, the old passageway that connected the Tithe House with the church vicarage and which had been closed and hidden for decades appeared.

With unique conditions for the optimal conservation of the most delicate wines, we did not hesitate to convert it into our winery.

This scenario is where everything happens: a seasonal and seasonal cuisine offers a casual and playful menu, designed for relaxing at the hotel at the end of the day in a unique space. It accompanies the wine list, almost complete with wines from Villabuena de Álava and the region, it could not be otherwise in the town with the most wineries per inhabitant, remember, 300 inhabitants, almost 40 wineries.

THE WINE STORE, MEETING POINT

Our Wine Cellar is, in its own right, a meeting point between visitors, locals and winemakers.

The north door of the reception faces the plaza of the Villabuena church. In it we find, occupying the place where the parish Tithe House was located, our Wine Cellar from which it borrows its name. This space has become a meeting point between visitors, locals and winemakers in the town. With a lot of love and broad criteria, it is a place where you can discover the winemaking proposals of the region, from the classics of the large wineries to the best kept secrets of the small ones in the region. If you're lucky, you might end up toasting the author of one of the wines you're trying. We accompany a small menu of cold dishes such as sausages and cans of exquisite quality preserves. Open from Thursday to Sunday.
